Because my husband and I had a baby in May I planned on taking June and July off but when Karlin called and asked if I would be interested in helping her with Sophe and Dusty's wedding I couldn't turn her down. Karlin Connell is one of my best friends and an amazing photographer. It's always a pleasure assisting her at weddings and I look forward to assisting again before the summer is over!

]]> Ashley and Ari - Key West, FL http://www.marybethtysonblog.com/index.php?link=165 http://www.marybethtysonblog.com/index.php?link=165 Wednesday, April 21, 2010 The exciting thing about shooting in many locations is that you get to not only see but also photograph a wide variety of cultures and places. When Ashley and I first spoke about her wedding she was so excited about incorporating the Key West culture in her images. Key West is a special place to me because my grandmother and great grandmother are Conchs (Key West Natives) and while the town has changed so much in the generations since they were young it is still a unique place with a unique culture beyond the tourists. Ashley prepared for the day with her cousin, best friend and her mother's best friend. After she and Ari saw each other for the first time we took some time out of the day to walk around Duval Street and the surrounding streets to bring in the culture that brought her south for her wedding. The day was just what you expect in the Keys - relaxing.

Erin and John were married on the beach in Seagrove with a wedding reception on The Lawn of the Triple Crown Beach House. When I think of the perfect wedding this is the type of day and atmosphere I think of. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it almost felt as if they were on vacation.... I guess in many ways they were! Below are a few favorites from the day. It's always so difficult to pick just a few.
